A Gold Tanzanite Pendant As An Investment
Tanzanite is a very rare stone that is found only in Tanzania. It was discovered for the first time in 1967, and because of the rare conditions required for its development, it is believed that this is the only place it can be found in the world. Levels of tanzanite being mined has been steadily decreasing, although the demand for the gemstone is increasing. Unfortunately, much of this demand will go unmet, as the resources diminish and are eventually exhausted.
The value of tanzanite, as with many other stones, such as rubies, is determined at least partly by color. The stone, in its rough form, is reddish brown in color, but as this raw tanzanite is heat treated, the blue and violet hues commonly associated with the gem are revealed. Because all tanzanite goes through this process, this form of treatment does not affect the value of the stone in any way.
The gemstone can be found in violet, burgundy and sapphire blue, all in varying shades. Although many people prefer the purple toned stones, those with the greatest monetary value are the deep blue ones.
Despite the fact that these stones are so rare, 1,000 times more rare than diamonds, they can still be purchased for a reasonable price. It may be a great investment to buy this stone, because its value has been steadily increasing as the supply decreases. Especially, as the cost has not risen too high above what could be afforded by many.
Of course the obvious way to buy your tanzanite would be in the form of jewelry. A lump of tanzanite may bring you some money down the line, but you sure can't enjoy it the way you would a necklace or pair of earrings that contain the stone and can be worn and appreciated as its value grows.
A gold tanzanite pendant is the perfect accessory. This uncommon jewel, set in a gold background would surely bring attention and inspire awe! This fascinating gem with its beautiful color and interesting history can make a perfect talking point at a social event. How would you feel wearing a stone such as tanzanite which, besides its great beauty and lovely hue, has such an impresssive story behind it, and is so relatively new compared to more traditional gemstones. Let them wear diamonds, you'll have your tanzanite!
And don't forget that some day you may look around and find that tanzanite is really very rare. Even now, more and more synthetic versions are being produced as the demand for the stone cannot be met with the natural product. It will be in such demand that you may get many times what you paid for it, even after all the years you have worn and enjoyed it!
