Pearl pendant white gold

A pearl is a round hard jewel that is produced on the inside of a living mollusk. When organic material or a parasite (or very rarely, a grain of sand, although this is the most commonly acknowledged catalyst) enters the mollusk it acts as an irritant and the mollusk deposits layers of calcium carbonate on the foreign object. This is repeated over and over until the layers build up and a pearl is formed.

Pearls found in the wild are significantly more valuable that those that are most commonly seen, which have been cultured on pearl farms. Still, pearls that have been harvested on a farm are not considered fake, as they are made in a natural way, although the stimuli is deposited intentionally in the mollusk.

Pearls have been used as gemstones in jewelry for thousands of years. They have been prized for their beauty in many civilizations. Besides just being made into jewelry, they have also been sewn into elaborate clothing in times past.

In present times, the pearl is still a symbol of beauty and worth. It is a valuable gemstone. Pearls can be found adorning all kinds of jewelry. They are the perfect compliment to both gold and silver. They can be used singly to make a simple and elegant statement or they can be used in groups to add a touch of glamour.

Sometimes pearls are combined with other gemstones to create an accent to an item of jewelry. The warm and rich iridescence of the milky pearl offsets the transparent glitter of the diamond or other precious or semi-precious stone that it is set with. Although it is different from other stones, it is similarly alluring in its own classic way.

Pearl pendants are a wonderful choice in pearl jewelry. A simple pearl hanging from an elegant chain is a perfect and subtle display for a conservative occasion. Other pearl pendants might be much more elaborate and showy. While very often combined with gold, a pearl pendant white gold combination is also stunning.
